One of my favorite new finds is a created on a small goat farm in Northern Alabama. Belle Chevre is an award winning maker of scrumptious goat cheese and goat cheese biscuits. The disinctive flavor makes a fabulous treat. The cheese comes in an olive oil mixture and makes a divine ready-to-eat spread. Of course we had to sample it - Sherry and I are dedicated to sampling and approving every Alabama food that we sell -it's a tough job. This Alabama gift is certainly the type of gourmet product that you would expect to find in a high-end Manhattan gourmet shop - and it's made right here in Alabama. Who knew?
